She had that smile,
That made him fly to the sky,
He wouldn't come back down, he'd rather die.
She put him up on cloud nine,
And he always thought.
That love like that was just fine.
But things aren't always as they seem,
And they turned sour,
He lost his greatest source of power.
They fell apart,
Like worn carpet strings,
And he crawled back to newer things.
With his head in his hands,
Yet she was doing just okay,
And he wondered how to make a new day.
So for a long time,
he was very alone,
And didn't know how to get back home.
He was hurting real bad,
But he knew it was time to go,
So he picked up his bags and let it show.
For the first time in a long time,
And took himself for a five hour long drive.
When he got back home,
he stepped in the door,
Spilled his whole heart out to the floor.
And so the walls, they listened,
To all of his troubles,
As he started to sweep up his broken rubble.
It's been a year now,
And he's doing just fine,
He visits cloud nine, most of the time
